“Belief Isn’t Pretending—It’s Partnering with Possibility.”

If You Believed It Was Possible, How Would You Act?
This week, while diving into Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes, something landed deeper in me than ever before. You’ve probably heard the phrase, “fake it till you make it.” But the more I sit with it, the more it feels off. Forced. Performative.
Because when we’re faking it, we’re often pushing to become something we don’t yet believe we are.
And that’s not how real transformation works.
What I’ve come to understand—and what I teach my clients—is this: You don’t need to fake anything. You need to believe it’s possible. To expect it to unfold. To act as if it’s already in motion.
That’s where the shift happens. That’s where manifestation becomes real.
Why We Get Stuck Waiting
But that’s not what we’re taught.
We’re conditioned to pay attention to our circumstances. To wait for evidence. To hold off on dreaming until we know for sure.
Here’s the truth: Waiting for your circumstances to change before you move is the exact opposite of how transformation happens.
This came up with one of my cancer coaching clients recently. She shared a dream that lit her up—a beautiful vacation she wanted to take once she felt healthy enough.
But she wasn’t planning it. Not yet. Because what if she didn’t get better? What if it never happened?
I gently reminded her: dreaming is a form of action.
Looking at destinations, imagining herself walking those beautiful streets, letting herself want it—that’s the beginning of calling it in. That’s a declaration of faith. A signal to life: I believe it’s possible.
So I’ll ask you the same question I asked her:
What Would You Do If You Believed It Was Possible?
Would you book the flight? Write the first chapter? Go to the event? Apply for the job? Say yes to love?
So many of our choices are shaped by fear and present circumstances. But Ernest Holmes reminds us: life doesn’t respond to what we hope for—it responds to what we expect.
When you begin to expect something new… life begins to shift.
Belief Creates Movement
When you truly believe it’s possible, you begin to take aligned action. You move in faith. And in that movement, you begin to generate new momentum. You change your energy—and energy creates results.
George Bernard Shaw said:
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances… If they can’t find the circumstances they want, they make them.”
Yes. That’s the shift. You stop waiting for the conditions to be perfect. You decide that your belief, your desire, and your willingness to move is enough.
John Maxwell reminds us:
“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”
And it’s true. But here’s the part we forget: Your belief is the starting point. Your expectation gives it fuel. Your action gives it form.
Let Your Dream Know You’re Serious
So today, ask yourself: If I truly believed this dream was possible… how would I act?
Then do that.
Even if it’s a small step. Even if it feels symbolic. Because life is already working on your behalf—all it’s waiting for is your signal of belief.
