The Thing You Don’t Want to Do

Have you ever received guidance that you didn’t want to hear?

Maybe it was a nudge to end something that had run its course, to make a change you weren’t ready for, or to take a leap that made no logical sense at all.

That moment where your intuition whispers “this is the way” and your human mind immediately says, “absolutely not.”

I know that feeling well.

When Spirit Says “Sell Your House”

Some time ago, I heard that quiet but unmistakable message: sell your house.

I immediately said, “No. Absolutely not. That can’t be right.”

It made no sense. I loved that home. It was filled with memories, warmth, and a sense of stability. But the guidance didn’t leave me. It stayed, gently but firmly, until I listened.

So, I sold it.

And what happened next reminded me why trusting divine direction, even when it feels inconvenient or uncomfortable, is always worth it.

The house sold for more than 20% over asking. That alone was incredible; but it wasn’t the real miracle.

Behind the scenes, my aunt had just been moved into memory care, and her house sat empty. She needed help managing her affairs. My husband suggested that we move into her home to care for it until it was ready to sell, and to support her financially in the process.

So that’s what we did.

When Guidance Feels Hard

Sometimes guidance doesn’t arrive wrapped in excitement or clarity. Sometimes it feels disruptive, unwelcome, even painful.

But if we pause and listen deeper, we’ll find that these nudges always lead us toward growth, alignment, or healing. The path of intuition isn’t about ease. It’s about truth. And truth, even when it’s inconvenient, always carries love at its core.

So if you’re being asked to take a step that doesn’t make sense right now, try this simple practice:

  1. Pause. Take a slow, grounding breath and place your hand on your heart.
  2. Acknowledge the resistance. Say softly, “I hear my fear, and I’m willing to listen deeper.”
  3. Ask. “If I trusted that Spirit sees a bigger picture than I do, what would I do next?”
  4. Take one small step. You don’t need to leap. You just need to move.

You may not see the full plan yet. You may not understand the timing. But one day, you’ll look back and see how everything fit together perfectly.
