The Season of Becoming
Every life has its seasons. Some seasons feel light and effortless—like a spring morning when everything is blooming and possibility is in the air.
Others feel long, heavy, and endless—like winter nights when the sun disappears too soon and we wonder if warmth will ever return.
Last week, I shared about the times we feel stuck—the moments when no matter how hard we try, nothing seems to move. Today, I want to take you deeper. Let’s talk about what happens when we finally do move—when we lean into growth, even though it feels uncomfortable.
Because here’s the truth: every season has its purpose. Even the hard ones. We often think growth should feel exciting and joyful. But most of the time, it feels awkward and unsettling.
Growth asks us to let go of old patterns, step into the unfamiliar, and say yes to something bigger than we feel “ready” for.
The Tug of Growth
Have you noticed how Life whispers when it’s time to grow? Maybe it shows up as restlessness in your work. Or tension in a relationship. Or a quiet question in your heart that won’t go away: “Is this really all there is?”
That whisper—that nudge—is the start of your becoming. But with it comes resistance. Fear rises and says, “I’ll wait until things settle down. I’ll step forward when I feel more confident.”
But waiting for the “perfect time” is a trap. If you wait until you feel completely ready, you’ll wait forever.
Growth rarely comes in tidy, comfortable packages. It usually shows up wrapped in longing, discontent, or struggle.
Choosing to Step Forward
Deciding to grow is an act of courage. It’s saying yes to the unknown. Yes to your higher self. Yes to the possibility that Life is inviting you into more.
You don’t need all the answers before you begin. What matters most is your willingness. Even the smallest step forward can unlock doors you didn’t know were there.
Think about it: a seed cannot become an oak tree without breaking out of its shell. Growth is uncomfortable—but it’s also sacred.
A Gentle Practice for Your Season of Becoming
If you’re feeling the stirrings of a new season, here’s a simple way to honor it today:
1. Pause & Breathe – Take three grounding breaths. Let your body settle.
2. Reflect – Ask yourself: “Where in my life am I being nudged to grow?” Write down whatever surfaces, without judgment.
3. Choose One Step – Circle one small action you can take this week to lean into that growth. (Call someone, journal, set a boundary, or simply voice your desire out loud.)
4. Affirm – Place your hand on your heart and say: “I am willing to grow. I trust this season is guiding me to more.” This simple practice is the doorway.
The real transformation happens when you allow yourself the space, the support, and the right community to keep moving forward.
You ARE Growing
Discomfort is not punishment—it’s proof that you’re in the middle of growth. You are being invited into more.
