The Sacred Pause
We live in a world that glorifies movement.
There’s always something to do, someone to call, something to fix or finish. Even when our bodies slow down, our minds keep racing, replaying the past or rehearsing the future.
But intuition doesn’t live in all that noise. It lives in the quiet space beneath it.
Stillness isn’t doing nothing. It’s allowing everything. It’s the moment when we stop trying to force clarity and allow it to arise naturally from within.
When I Finally Stopped “Doing”
Years ago, I reached a point where no amount of action was bringing me peace. I was spinning in circles, busy but disconnected, trying to think my way into the next chapter of my life.
One morning, in complete exhaustion, I sat down with my coffee, closed my eyes, and whispered, “I surrender.”
That’s when I felt it. That soft, spacious presence that I now recognize as divine guidance.
It wasn’t a booming voice or a grand revelation. It was a feeling. A quiet knowing that said, “You already know what to do. Just stop long enough to hear it.”
That was the beginning of my stillness practice. Not because I planned it, but because life brought me to it.
And from that space, everything began to shift.
How Stillness Led Me to My Own Vision
If you read last week’s blog, you’ll remember the story about being guided, quite unexpectedly, to sell my home. At the time, I didn’t want to hear that message. It made no sense. I resisted it with everything in me.
But as I surrendered and trusted that inner voice, the path unfolded in ways I could never have imagined.
That decision led my husband and me to move into my aunt’s home while caring for her, and one day I realized something extraordinary. The home we had moved into — nestled in nature, overlooking water, surrounded by peace — was the very vision I had been holding in my heart for years.
What I thought was loss turned out to be alignment. What felt disruptive became fulfillment.
When I look back on that time now, I see how the pause between the old and the new was sacred. It was the in-between moment where Spirit rearranged everything for my highest good.

What Stillness Reveals
When we pause, we create space for wisdom to rise. It’s like muddy water; when you stop stirring it, the sediment settles and clarity returns.
Stillness doesn’t give you new answers; it reminds you of what you already know.
You begin to hear the gentle truth beneath the noise.
You feel peace begin to return.
And you remember that you were never lost, only distracted.
As I shared in my book, Living Your Intuitive Genius™:
“Your inner genius whispers, not shouts. Stillness is the space where you can finally hear it.”
I can’t wait to spend this time with you, to share the tools, the stories, and the truth that have transformed my life again and again.
A Practice for the Sacred Pause
You don’t need an hour of meditation to reconnect. You only need a moment of willingness.
Here’s a simple practice you can try today:
- Find a quiet space to sit quietly, leaving distraction behind, and simply close your eyes. Take three deep, grounding breaths…
- Place a hand on your heart. Feel your body, your breath, your aliveness.
- Ask one question. “What do I need to know right now?” Then, don’t try to answer.
- Wait. Let silence do the work. The answer might not come as words. It may come as a feeling, a thought, or a sense of peace.
Stillness isn’t about perfection or control. It’s about presence. Every time you pause, you tell your soul, “I’m listening.”
Closing Reflection
We spend so much of our lives rushing toward clarity, not realizing that clarity is trying to catch up with us.
When you create space for stillness, you stop chasing the answer and start remembering who you are.
So today, before you move on to the next thing, take a breath.
Let the noise settle.
And listen.
Because the guidance you’ve been searching for has been whispering all along.
