Intention

“I am a person who lives my life based on intention. I don’t do anything without intention because intention determines the outcome of your life. It’s like cause and effect.”

— Oprah Winfrey

Intention for the day:

If you’re like me, you want to begin your day with purpose and a clear direction. You may have a calendar filled with tasks, to-dos, and events.

Today, I want to share something that has made a positive difference in my daily life.

Most of you already know about my morning routine, which I call My Morning Practice. I wrote an eBook on it, feel free to get your free copy here.  I’ve added a new element to this routine that has helped me stay focused and aligned with my desired outcomes throughout the day.

Setting intentions for each event or task is simple yet powerful.

Intentions for each activity:

So, as I go through my day, I have a purpose in mind for each activity and set an intention for the result I expect. This practice is like what I do before my workshops, where I intend to deliver the best workshop ever.

As I do that, I imagine how I feel at the end of the workshop and consciously direct my mind to evoke that result.

Intention sets the energy flow:

You see, energy flows where it is directed. Grounding your thoughts and words in what you want to achieve, it’s like teaming up with the power of infinite possibilities to bring your desired outcomes.

In Stephen Covey’s book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” he discusses the importance of “Begin with the End in Mind.” So, your Intention is your “end in mind’ of the goal or desire, then you move forward with your task or event.

Intention keeps you focused:

By infusing each task with the energy of your desired outcome, you can stay focused and avoid distractions.

As we know, distractions occur as a means of keeping us in our comfort zone, so Intention is a good vehicle that keeps us moving.

Intention keeps us Connected:

This is a practice that not only helps me accomplish my goals, but also keeps me connected to my spiritual side as I navigate through the day. It helps you stay focused and present in the moment.

It’s a beautiful way to align your energy, the human and the spiritual by use of Intention. I invite you to try it and let me know how it works.

If you want to learn more about my morning practices, including setting intentions, please email me at edna@livingrealitydreams.com. I’ll be happy to provide you with more information.

Intention is an added Resource:

Sometimes, we hesitate to engage in new practices because we think they will take up extra time and effort, which are valuable resources.

However, setting intentions saves time and effort by putting you in a state of flow. You find purpose in everything you do and set the course for your goal.

I invite you to embark on an experiment: start your day with My Morning Practice and start each task, event, and decision, with your intention.

You’ll notice a difference in how you feel and how much more intentional and purposeful your life becomes.
