Connecting the dots . . .

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So, you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” ~ Steve Jobs

Life changing decision

You can see in your own life how one decision can lead to a series of events that lead you to a place you’ve never imagined. Often the outcome of the decision is affected by whether you made the decision from a place of Love, or from Fear. If you loved the idea of moving forward with the decision, or whether you cautiously moved forward hoping for the best, since it seemed like a good idea.

More than 6 years ago, I decide to pay attention to the voice in my head that kept saying “Is that all there is?” My inner voice was asking if working in the corporate world was what I wanted to continue doing? It led me to examine how I was making a difference in the world? Think about the imprint that I wanted to leave? I had ignored that voice for about a decade.

The voice had grown louder and louder even though my life looked beautiful, and I was happy. When I decided it was time to listen, I was led to unexpected places to face new experiences and to get to know parts of myself I had no idea existed.

Deciding to stay open to Spirit’s call and follow it, has led me here. Had I not listened, I believe I would be stuck living the same year repeatedly. My mentor, Mary Morrissey says – “Some People Live 90 Years, Some People Live 1 Year 90 Times.”

Connecting the dots

Spirit’s call changed the trajectory of my life and can no longer connect the dots to my future. Choosing to grow introduced me to a study with Marianne Williamson’s A Course in Miracles. Then to life coaching through happenstance of events that began a study under Mary Morrissey. Even my breast cancer journey, I think is part of the calling to experiment and deeply know how to traverse with Spirit at your side during the most vigorous times.

A lifegiving journey, despite the diagnosis

Having lived through breast cancer opened my heart and eyes to my burning desire to teach others how to navigate tough circumstances with ease and joy. Yes, I lived through a deadly decease season at a high vibration because I applied the principles I studied as a life coach. There is a difference between knowing about something and practicing it and understanding it.

Trust and Belief in Spirit

And now, I have a different relationship with Spirit. One of trust, belief, and total submission to what He inspires me to do. It is not easy; my human nature often argues and then I remember that I don’t have a bird’s eye view – Spirit does. So then, I do the step that I am called to do and then the next one is revealed. One thing that is present when taking the steps, is that I am not alone, and Spirit is acting for my and everyone else’s higher good. I am in love with the idea of serving despite, at times, there being things I do not want to do.

Surrounded by support

I face fear in this journey more often than in my past life as am endeavoring outside my comfort zone. At times I wonder – “what in the world are you doing, Edna?” This is when I seek support from my coach, my husband, and others that believe in the path I have now chosen to follow. Having a support system is key to staying on your path, we are not meant to journey alone.

We have free will

One decision got me here. A place I love because of my curious nature on how what dots will connect as I look back at my life. As I do things that never in my wildest dreams would I have dreamt to do – share my life with the world, I stay open to even more growth with the expectation that every day, I am exactly where I am called to be. Some of you know me from my past, and you can attest to how private and reserved I was. That person remains, as I get comfortable with the new me. We are all called to be, do, have, and create – some of us follow the nudges and others want to stay within their comfort zone. There is no right or wrong, I know that my story is no different than some of you who are endeavoring to live and create the life you are called to live.

Invitation to Lifework . . .

Reflect on these questions and discover more about you-

Is Spirit nudging you to something different?

Have you stepped out of your comfort zone to do something different than your norm?

If so – has it led you down a path of growth and amazing discovery?

If not – do you have any regrets about not acting on the call?

What dots can you connect in your life that have led you down to who you are today?

Are you on a growth journey?

What is required for you to follow the Voice of your inner guidance?

Do you recognize The Voice when it calls or talks to you?

Are you living 1 year 90 times or living 90 years?

The Question to ask when in doubt:

And a question my coach has taught me to ask when I am doubtful about doing what I am called to do?

If today was the last time, you put your head on your pillow, would you be okay with not doing what you are being called to do?

No judgment, just love:

You are the highest authority in your life – Always! You are the only one that knows what is best for you. Your journey is like no other, no matter what. You are a beautiful Spiritual being living a human experience. You are loved.
