Tools for Better Health

As we experience another season of Covid 19 and the effects of Omicron, your mindset can empower you to stay healthy.

Your thoughts, feelings, and actions are powerful tools to use for better health.  I experimented with these concepts during my breast cancer journey. These tools work and will help you attain better health. Use them for the common cold, or anytime you may experience disease in your life.  I encourage you to share with family and friends.

First, you must decide to be healthy. Of course, you believe you want to be healthy, yet if your subconscious mind doesn’t join your decision, then you are sabotaging your recovery.

A way to see if your subconscious mind is holding a different belief than health is to use your awareness to examine your thoughts, feelings, and actions. When you are feeling the effects of the illness what are you saying to yourself, and what are your actions regarding the illness?

“Gosh, I’m feeling sick, it’s a great excuse to stay home.”

“I love the attention I receive when I am sick.”

“I think I have something coming on” – and then you nurture the illness by continuing to think and talk about it.

“I don’t know if I can fight this battle”

“I have (fill in the blank with the name of illness), It’s going to be a hard road ahead”

UNWAVERING DECISION!

Claiming health is deciding for health, there is no other conclusion to be made, other than “I am healthy, my body is strong, energetic, and vibrant”. When you wobble in your decision, you miss the mark in the attainment of what you are seeking; vibrant, dynamic, great health.  Once you decide, you also trust and believe that you will achieve it – no matter what! You make up your mind that the disease has no power over you.

 WHAT DOES HEALTH LOOK LIKE?

Keeping your vision of health in mind is the second. Regardless of what you are experiencing (the effects of the illness) you hold the vision (in your mind) of how you feel when you are living a healthy life. Have a vision of you doing the activity that you most enjoy. Have the vision of what is set to happen in the future; your child graduating from college, your daughter getting married, the cruise you plan when retired. Being clear on your vision with the details of what is happening. You have a mini-movie of what it looks like; what you are wearing, who you are with, what do you smell or feel, etc. You are the lead actor of the healthy, vibrant, and abundant life you are living.

AFFIRMING WITH BELIEF

And third, as you hold that vision daily, you also affirm it. Emilé Coué was a French Psychologist who used the power of autosuggestion to help his patients heal. “Every day in every way, I am getting better and better”, was the phrase he prescribed his patients. It is a powerful phrase used by millions to affirm the goodness in their life. State this affirmation throughout your day; when your energy is depleted, or your belief wavers.

BREATHE, ENVISION & AFFIRM

And even more powerful is to while affirming good health, you play the reel of your movie in your head. You tune in to health by breathing deeply, affirming, and playing the movie starring you in excellent health. You do this as you are living through the condition you’ve been diagnosed. This is a way of keeping your mind with the end (of health) in mind, and not giving power to the illness. Taking the focus off the situation moves the energy to where you want to be, what you seek, and what you are intent on receiving.

I recommend using these tools when wanting to achieve anything in your life. Your decision, unwavering belief, vision, the affirmation will make it so.
