Happy New Year!

Many of us welcome the new year with anticipation and curiosity, with an expectation of fresh new opportunities. We look to become an even better version of ourselves. There is an excitement to a fresh-new start.

New Year’s resolutions become opportunities for realized dreams, yet the majority fail. But why do only 20% of the resolutions succeed? For the same reason, the minority of lottery winners maintain their wealth over seven years. It is because we are dealing with habits, beliefs, and thoughts that are embedded in the wiring of our brains.

Have you made a New Year Resolution? If so, I invite you into new thoughts to increase your chances of realizing your resolutions.

The calendar is a man-made idea

We place meaning on January 1 as a brand-new beginning. New Year is celebrated by many cultures, yet they do not all start on January 1. So, if you fail to keep your resolution at any point in time, do not drop it altogether and say, “Forget it, I’ll start again next month or next year.” Restart as soon as you realize it – new starts happen daily, not just on New Year’s Day.

Repatterning new behaviors involve rewiring your brain

The formation of your behaviors has taken time so new habits take time, repetition, and consistency. Transformation requires sticking to it no matter what!  Depending on what you are wanting to change, making a daily date – doing the thing at the time same time every day leads to accomplishment.

Viewing failure as a friend

If you fail, it does not mean stop – it means lean in.  If it were easy to change, it would have happened already. Therefore, repatterning means taking it one moment at a time, a day at a time, learning from it, and doing better next time, even if you failed in the process. It is in the practice, that you get better. Failure is the feedback you receive to do things differently, in a better or different way, and leads to the realization of dreams.

Welcome the opportunity to grow

As you welcome the new year, stand positive and resolute on the achievement of what you dream of. You’ve accomplished many things prior, and life will continue to challenge you to grow. That is the process of our human journey, to grow and to become an even better version ourselves. There is a power within and around that supports your growth. Tune in to your power, let your inner wisdom lead you, and follow your intention for growth.

Believing in you!
