Intuition as Ally, Not Burden: Lessons from a Sacred Partnership
Are you afraid of YOUR intuition?
“I’m scared of my intuition.”
That’s what Evelyn told me today as we stood inside a gorgeous venue she was showing me—one I’m considering for my next in-person workshop. I had just shared that I teach about living fully and developing intuitive wisdom, and her response came with a visible wave of emotion.
She explained that her intuition had warned her about events she didn’t want to happen—things she later lived through. Her inner knowing had felt more like a curse than a gift, tied to past trauma and moments of helplessness.
Her honesty reminded me: not everyone has a loving relationship with their intuition.
I invite you to to notice within yourself now, are you afraid of your intuition?
For some, like Evelyn, it’s felt like a burden. But here’s the truth I shared with her—and now, with you:
You are the authority of your inner guidance.
You’re the one that gets to shape that relationship. You can invite your intuitive genius to show you what is helpful, loving, and clear—and just as importantly, you can ask not to receive information you’re not ready for. This is a sacred partnership. With intention and boundaries, you can shift it from fear to empowerment.
I teach this because I’ve lived it. Intuition has changed my life—for the better. Here are three powerful examples:
1. My health journey
Before I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I received a clear nudge during a coaching event to work with a particular coach. I hesitated—until my husband reminded me of my commitment to follow guidance. I said yes. Months later, after my diagnosis, I learned she had over 30 years of experience supporting people with critical illnesses through energy medicine. She became my guide and mentor, helping me access tools I now pass on to others. That guidance came before I even knew I’d need her.
2. Selling our home
I was guided to sell our house—and when we did, it sold for over a quarter of a million dollars above asking. Shortly after, the market shifted. That sale gave me the resources to invest in my business and expand my work. Without that intuitive decision, I wouldn’t be as resourced and grounded as I am today.
3. Meeting my husband
When I opened myself to love again, I felt a quiet pull to say yes to someone I had just met. That man is now my husband. What’s wild? We had traveled in the same circles for years and never crossed paths until then. My intuition led me to the love of my life.
So why do I share this?
Because maybe your experience with intuition hasn’t been as affirming. Maybe, like Evelyn, it’s felt heavy or confusing. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
You can create a new relationship with your inner wisdom—one that supports your highest good.
Your intuition is your inner genius.
It’s not magic—it’s your birthright. And when you choose to listen, ask, and partner with it, life becomes more aligned, empowered, and expansive.
Hearing Evelyn’s story was powerful—it reminded me that everyone has a unique relationship with their intuition.
For some, it’s a trusted inner compass. For others, it’s something they’ve feared or misunderstood. Her openness sparked a deep desire in me to hear more:
How has intuition shown up in your life? Are you afraid of your intuition, do you trust it, or something in between?
I’d love to hear your story.
I’m inspired to collect stories—real, raw, and inspiring reflections—about people’s intuitive journeys. I hope to document and share them so we can learn, grow, and connect through our experiences. If you feel called, please share yours with me.
